cubus outperform 8.1.3

The new 8.1.3 release is a big step forward in achieving our objective and focuses on the report consumer and visualizing data.

New Business Charts

cubus EV has been setting the standard for tabular analysis for Oracle Essbase, IBM TM1 and Microsoft Analysis Services. With the new chart, it not only looks modern but we have also added 50 new functions and capabilities with a focus on Line-, Bar- and Area-Charts.

Small Multiple

The new small multiple (also called trellis charts) can easily transform a confusing chart into easy to understand single charts, with little effort it is possible to turn data into meaningful information.

Cell charts

The cell chart functionality has been enhanced in the form of sparklines. This means that data bars can be created in combination with a sparkline in order to visually see historical data.

Additional Member Information

Display additional member information in data cells, such as Essbase attribute dimensions and SSAS hierarchy attributes and use them for sorting and reporting is a unique feature for classical OLAP frontends.

Highlights of Version 8.1.3

EV Anywhere

  • You can now visualize your data using the new charting capabilities and they look exactly the same as the desktop client
  • Sparklines can now be displayed in the data table
  • We have received some exceptional feedback to the innovative feature additional member information in cells, so we decided to add this to EV Anywhere
  • Changes in views can now be saved
  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge Browsers are now supported (in addition to Safari on IOS)
  • The export to Excel using the EV Anywhere client is now possible

EV Desktop

  • Improved drag & drop and navigation possibilities of the Small Multiple charts
  • Chart Axis X labels can now be displayed on 1 or 2 rows and their length can be defined
  • A link to a view can now be sent in an Email to a colleague
  • It is now possible to export from EV directly to XLSX format

In Generell

  • Animated chart display supports analysts in presentations to tell an interesting story based on live data

  • Settings for Bar Charts are extended to define bar width, gap between bars and colors for outlined bars

  • Line Charts could be displayed in 3 different styles and zero values in a dataset can be treated in various ways. High/Low-Values could be highlighted.

  • Pie-Charts could be displayed as „Donuts“ as well.

  • Axes in graphs may have different colors and behaviors like being displayed in the background or on top. The axis may be displayed as solid, dotted or dashed lines.

  • New possibilities to influence the position of values and text in the graph to support better communicate the message of the graph.

  • In addition to databars and variance bars, cell-charts offer the possibility to represent a series of data in sparklines, a great representation to present a set of data in a compressed line or bar-chart within a single cell of a table.

  • With the additional member information out of Essbase attribute dimensions and SSAS hierarchy attributes displayed in the data cells of a table, cubus EV is extending the possibility of tabular analysis and reporting into a new dimension.

Many EV users previously exported their data to Excel to create their visual representations. With cubus EV 8.1, this is no longer required and data can be visualized directly in EV.

For Administrators

cubus EV Version 8.1.3 supports Oracle 12c as the repository and Windows 10.
